There are technically several programs with Honey Select installation. One of course is the actual game, Honey Select, and the other is Honey Studio which is more about creating pictures that are not possible in the game and is its own 3d animation studio (much like SFM). Within it you can do photo shoots and create story lines. This is where the program really unlocks the doors on what is possible. Of course now Studio Neo does a similar function but is much more advanced and complex.
It also makes it very easy to get started as downloading existing Studio cards not only sets up previously created poses but full characters as well. You can also easily substitute loli characters in your shoots from studio cards you get from other boards and places. Even a novice can throw in the Unteralterbach girls into a photo shoot and make size adjustments that can’t be done in the game. Have a tiny character that’s in the -negative range? Now it’s not much of a problem as you can make size adjustments in Honey Studio.
Again it’s easiest to get started with Honey Studio by downloading some scenes from other boards, putting them in your user content folder, and then load the already setup scenes (and characters) into your game. Like the character cards they are small png files and these go into “HoneySelect\UserData\Studio”. Get started with a few on ATF here, here, or here, or here, or many on here. There’s thousands of them out there! In fact the more recent update to the game batched hundreds of studio cards for an official release.
Once you download a scene card you can load it, replace characters (with lolis), fix the height and size issues, and resave them.

That allows you to setup any positions within the room, all kinds of angles, make adjustments, change who they are looking at, change expressions (eyes and mouth) and make new photos (F11 and check your Honey Select\UserData\cap )
Plus many scenes come with 5 cameras and often 5 (or six) scenes in one scene card. This really helps tell a story. Many are clones of the same scene in identical rooms or in adjacent studios (or even nearby couches). A screenshot to prepare you.
Controlling the right Nele is the hard part now! Is it 3, 4, or 5? Clones are very common way to add multiple scenes in a single scene card!
